If I had a penny for every thumbs up or phone whipped out to take a video... Oh man.
So far the wreck count is an Outback, a BRZ, a 3 series, an old Toyota coupe, a big lifted new Ferd, and... A major street that’s closed off because a semi and a FedEx truck got tangled up on a hill.
Year old snow tires (that were ran through the warmer months) are noticeably less grippy. I’m not fastest thing on the road like I was last year, but I can still get around very well. Next year we’ll finally try some nokian haka’s.
Okay... Back to the doriftos. Enjoy your day and be safe!

Saw a fella flying down my road in his ND RF. Undeterred. Meanwhile, Highlanders and Silverado squealing at the 4 way stop a block up.

He hadn’t cleared the snow very well so it was hard to see :(
Old as in 90's, it wasn't anything particularly interesting.

I
could spend hours people (car) watching on a snow day like this...

We went for a nice walk. That’s enough for me. Roads are already solid ice.

This is awesome. I had tons of fun the other day in my car, and then of course crash it the day after all the salt and snow melted which created a fuck ton of ice.
I really wish they would just not salt

A buddy has an S2K - he used to live up that big hill in Montreux. He put Blizzaks on that thing and it was like a frikkin’ mountain goat. It was funny to watch SUVs get messed up and he’d cruise on past in his S2K.
I remember probably ‘05 - there was a big storm and my office looked up Issaquah Fall-City Rd. from East Lake Sammamish. I was the only guy at the office, and some trooper in a Honda Accord was 3/4s of the way up the hill. He gave up and abandoned his car in the passing lane of the lanes coming down the hill. I should have taken a picture as they had plowed him in to boot.

I keep hoping to see some interesting cars on the road, but nothing yet! Oh man. I remember last year at the the top of Montreux there was a solid 2 inches of snow, and at the bottom.... Nothing. Situated right on the snow line.

Any chance you’d be free this weekend or the 22-24th for some snowy forest service road driving?

I love it when it snows where it is not supposed to snow. It makes for great spectating
. Truth is most folks should just stay home and wait for it to melt.

Unfortunately the snow levels are too high for the Miata at the moment :( I never got around to installing the lift kit so 4ish inches is about as much as the roadster can handle...

How’s 124th looking? I’m going to have to brave that tomorrow

Not too bad. I drove the back road by the Marriott and police station and that was fine as well. I would plan your commute to avoid starting on any hills though, it's already icy in that area, and a lot of cars are having to back down and find other route when they didn't carry speed

The roadster’s looking nice (and cold). I used to deliver pizza and when it snowed and I was out drifting from place to place the reactions were priceless. People don’t realize they are so well balanced that they drift around quite effortlessly in the right conditions. I needed a push maybe once or twice tho I admit. But delivering pizza in snow/ice in the mountains, that’s not so bad!

I was in your neck of the woods the other day, and it seemed like the storm was just a few hours behind me. Did you get any snow?

Nothing stuck. Maybe up in the hills a light dusting. But overall, no.
